| This painting is around 13” wide by 23” high. This is the artist’s dog and great friend, Sadie. Though Sadie often stands on her hind legs for attention, she did not pose in this dress. She seems very natural though with her head combined with a little girl’s body borrowed from a historical painting. This is the first painting in a series of animal-people combinations. The second image below shows Sadie in Dress before the painting stage was completed. As with all the artist’s paintings, a wood-burned drawing is the first stage. | |
