Summer Cabinet

| This artwork illustrates the potential for refinishing the surface
of a typical dark-stained wood cabinet from the 70's. Colors of
paint used in this composition were combinations of pink, green,
and white, with gold and brown tones provided by the staining and
wood-burning steps in the process. Colors were chosen to coordinate
with the owner's kitchen, and continued on the wooden knobs that
were wood-burned and painted for the other cabinets in the room.
Images used include Lady Guinevere, King Arthur, and Merlin taken
from Aubrey Beardsley's drawings originally for Sir Thomas Malory's
book, 'Morte D'Arthur', along with Art Nouveau designs and a variety
of flora and fauna. Also in this kitchen is a set of coordinating
cabinet doors with a winter theme (see Winter
Cabinet). There is no text on this artwork. |
