Worldly Traveller Clock by Shirley Marie Dees
Worldly Traveller Clock

This clock represents a scenic "tour" of areas of the world. Facing the front of the clock, the clock face itself represents the section dominated by Europe and Africa (images on this side are of Sweden, Ethiopia, and Kenya.) To the left is the clock face representing what we call the Western Hemisphere with images below representing Oregon and Costa Rica. To the right, the clock face represents mainly Southeast Asia and Australia, with images of Indonesia, Thailand, and Australia.

With Oregon scenes depicted in three of the Western Hemisphere's images, there's no doubt where the artist's home is located. But it is also significant that with Oregon's diverse geography, it is the artist's opinion that most of the other scenes depicted on this clock would not be out of place at least somewhere within the state.

The clock has twelve panels of artwork in addition to the three separate clock faces and most of the art panels include inspiring quotes.

There is storage within the clock inside the lockable door, which makes a very efficient use of space in any home. Including the top which extends beyond the body of the clock it measures about 18 1/2 inches wide by 15 1/2 inches deep by 78 inches tall. Each clock runs on a separate AA battery, easily accessed inside the upper door. All three could be set to the same time to be viewed from three directions or to different times to represent different times zones in other parts of the world.
